花開茶

Steeped one in a clear teapot and within about three minutes the green tea leaves opened into a full flower. The tea itself is light and smooth, not bitter at all. My kids gathered around to watch it bloom, which made it worth it alone.

I found myself just watching the glass pot instead of doing work—the way the leaves slowly unravel into that bloom is genuinely mesmerizing. Even after the third steep it still holds its gentle green tea character.

I was skeptical the first time I dropped one of these buds into my glass, but watching it slowly bloom into a full flower was genuinely mesmerizing. The green tea itself is gentle and smooth, making the whole experience feel like a little ceremony every afternoon.
